Convert an hourly rate into weekly, monthly, and yearly pay in seconds.
This calculator converts an hourly wage into the equivalent weekly, monthly, and annual gross pay, based on how many hours you work per week and how many weeks per year you are actually paid for. It's useful for comparing a job offer's hourly rate against a salaried position, or for freelancers estimating annual income from an hourly billing rate.
Weekly Pay = Hourly Rate × Hours per Week
Annual Pay = Weekly Pay × (Paid Weeks − Unpaid Weeks)
Monthly Pay = Annual Pay ÷ 12
At $22.50 per hour, working 40 hours a week for all 52 weeks of the year: Weekly Pay = 22.50 × 40 = $900. Annual Pay = 900 × 52 = $46,800. Monthly Pay = 46,800 ÷ 12 = $3,900.
This is a gross pay estimate before taxes, benefits, and other deductions. Actual take-home pay will be lower after withholding.
Hourly wage = annual salary ÷ total annual working hours (commonly 2,080 hours for a standard 40-hour work week over 52 weeks).
The standard formula assumes paid time throughout the year; if you have significant unpaid leave, your effective hourly rate for actual hours worked would be higher.
Multiply hourly wage by hours worked per week, then by the number of weeks worked per year.
