Using the Scientific Calculator

Type numbers and operators using the on-screen buttons, then press "=" to evaluate the expression. Trigonometric functions apply to the number currently shown on screen — enter a value first, then tap sin, cos, or tan. Toggle between Degrees and Radians using the switch above the button grid; this affects every trig function and its inverse.

M+ adds the displayed value to memory, M- subtracts it, and MR recalls the stored total back to the screen — useful for running totals across several calculations without writing numbers down.

Degrees vs. Radians

Degrees split a full circle into 360 equal parts and are the more familiar unit for everyday geometry. Radians measure angles by arc length relative to the radius, with a full circle equal to 2π radians — this is the standard unit in most higher-level math and physics. Make sure the mode matches what your problem expects before using any trig function.
