These three calculations all come from the same core relationship:
Speed = Distance ÷ Time
Distance = Speed × Time
Time = Distance ÷ Speed
If you drove 150 km in 2 hours and 30 minutes, convert the time to hours first: 2.5 hours. Speed = 150 ÷ 2.5 = 60 km/h. Going the other direction, if you know your speed is 60 km/h and you drive for 2.5 hours, distance = 60 × 2.5 = 150 km. And if you need to cover 300 km at 80 km/h, time = 300 ÷ 80 = 3.75 hours, which is 3 hours and 45 minutes.
This kind of calculation comes up when planning a road trip and estimating arrival time, checking whether a flight or train's average speed seems reasonable, working out pace for running or cycling, or solving physics homework problems involving uniform motion.
