A video file's size is a direct function of how much data is encoded per second (bitrate) and how many seconds long the video is. This calculator combines your video and audio bitrates and multiplies by the video's duration to estimate the final exported file size — handy for planning uploads, storage, or export settings before rendering.
Combined Bitrate (kbps) = Video Bitrate + Audio Bitrate. File Size (MB) = (Combined Bitrate × Duration in Seconds) ÷ 8 ÷ 1024. Dividing by 8 converts kilobits to kilobytes, and dividing by 1024 converts kilobytes to megabytes.
A 10-minute (600-second) video encoded at 8,000 kbps video bitrate plus 128 kbps audio has a combined bitrate of 8,128 kbps. File size = (8,128 × 600) ÷ 8 ÷ 1024 ≈ 595 MB, or about 0.58 GB.
Higher bitrates generally mean better visual quality but larger files and higher upload/streaming bandwidth requirements. Platforms like YouTube publish recommended bitrate ranges by resolution and frame rate (for example, roughly 8,000–12,000 kbps for standard 1080p30 video) — matching those recommendations is usually the best starting point.
